Test Results

Your Results

Please ring for results of laboratory and X-ray tests after 2.30pm, unless the doctor has asked you to make an appointment to review the result of your test.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Cervical Screening Update

From September 2025, the NHS Cervical Screening Programme will begin sending negative test results digitally through the NHS App.

  • If a patient receives a negative result, they will be notified via the NHS App and a notification will appear on their device. If the message is not read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a backup.
  • It will appear as an NHS App notification, and if someone doesn’t have notifications switched on for the NHS App, they may also receive an SMS message to remind them to check the NHS App.
  • Abnormal results will continue to be sent by post for the time being.

9 out of 10 invitations and reminders are now being sent digitally; this update for your results is the next step!

If you haven’t already got the NHS App on your device, please download it now

Once downloaded turn on notifications so you never miss an update!
